[7.40c] The 5 Best Offlane Heroes in Dota 2
February 9th, 2026

Offlane is rarely played now, and it's even free to choose position in ranked, but this actually creates an opportunity to steal MMR. The main reason offlane is unpopular is that carry heroes' laning ability is too strong, and if your support doesn't know how to pull creeps, you will most likely suffer during the laning phase, resulting in a poor gaming experience. The core requirements for offlane heroes today are: ability to survive and farm against strong carries, teamfight utility (tankiness, initiation, or aura support), ability to drive the game tempo (initiating fights or pushing towers), and suitability for aura items (Loading..., Loading..., Loading...).
Fifth Place: Loading...
Loading...'s core strength is his non-laning strategy - using Loading... to push lanes quickly and counter strong ranged carries. The enemy's fragile body can't withstand creep waves hitting the tower, and they can't harass you when you pull jungle camps. He can stalemate with anyone. Additionally, he excels with aura items (Loading..., Loading..., Loading...), fitting perfectly into the meta's formulaic teamfight rhythm. Gameplay tip: Don't push lanes at level 1 - you don't have enough mana or damage. Use aggro manipulation to last hit the first few waves, then pull to your tower after denying the ranged creep. Safely farm until levels 2-3 before starting the push + pull jungle cycle. In teamfights, aura items enhance your team's survivability, creating space with your ultimate and pushing ability.
Fourth Place: Loading...
Loading...'s teamfight potential is extraordinary - her ultimate plays two songs at once (movement speed + heal), and her first ability Loading... has a 7-second cooldown, capable of dispelling various buffs. She is highly effective against heroes like Loading..., Loading..., Loading..., Loading... that rely on buffs. Equipment-wise, Loading... is a massive power spike, allowing her to play two songs simultaneously while quickly stacking layers. Loading... is weak in the laning phase, with a similar approach to Loading...: use aggro manipulation to last hit the first few waves, and use her second ability Loading... to push lanes and pull jungles from level 3. However, she has limitations: no early-mid game solo kill potential, no escape mechanisms, and the weakest solo laning ability among all heroes discussed today. She is more suitable for high MMR games with coordinated teammates, and less effective in lower tiers where players don't like to group.
Third Place: Loading...
Loading... dominates his lane and has exceptional escape ability. He performs well both in solo and teamfight-focused games. Although he received a minor nerf recently, his impact remains strong. He has solo kill potential and is hard to gank, making him a very stable offlane choice.
Second Place: Loading...
Loading...'s most notable advantage is his laning pressure - most ranged carries (except Loading...) can't handle his summons, leaving them watching helplessly as he denies and last-hits creeps. He is very suitable for aura items, which fits the current meta, and also has the ability to secure solo kills with his ultimate in the early to mid game. His summons continuously apply pressure on the enemy's creeps, forcing 1-2 enemies to defend, which is a huge contribution. Mastering his summons is more important than using his ultimate effectively. You shouldn't rush to buy Loading... just for his ultimate. In terms of team utility, aura items enhance your team's survivability, and his summons can split push to create tower dive opportunities.
First Place: Loading...
Loading... has excellent win rates across all MMR brackets, with his core advantage being his item suitability. After the rework of Loading... (now 4300 gold, providing HP, mana, and weak dispel), it perfectly complements Loading...'s attributes, replacing the previous Loading.... Even when building aura items, he still deals massive damage, with his third ability Loading... + Loading... providing explosive AoE damage and fast farming efficiency. From level 3 onwards, use Loading... to harass enemies, combining last hits, pushing lanes, and pulling jungles while controlling the Lotus Orb. The enemy has no sustain, making them vulnerable to tower dives. In teamfights, build Loading..., Loading..., Loading... armor - he will be very tanky, hard to kill, and continuously harass opponents by stealing attack damage.
