How Dota 2 Counter Pick Draft Simulator Advice Is Generated
Dota 2 Counter Pick Draft Simulator recommendations and avoid suggestions are derived from real-time matchup win rate statistics and hero counter/synergy entries.
The win rate shown in reasons is the recent matchup win rate, used as a reference signal.

How the Dota 2 Counter Pick Tool Works

This tool is a planning aid for ranked drafts. Choose heroes for both teams, set your role, and compare the resulting matchup signals before you enter a match.

Start with the information available early in a draft: likely support picks, comfort heroes, and roles your team can play. Keeping several viable options open is often more useful than committing to a core hero before the opposing lineup is visible.

As more heroes are selected, compare candidates by lane role, matchup history, and team synergy. The result is a short list to discuss with your team, not a replacement for patch knowledge, player skill, or in-game communication.

Use the final selection to check for obvious vulnerabilities: a lane your team cannot play, a key spell that lacks an answer, or a hero pool that has become too narrow. Removing and replacing a pick lets you test alternatives quickly.

Draft rules and availability differ by mode, patch, and tournament. Treat the board as a rehearsal space: model the choices you expect to see, then prepare a backup plan for a contested or banned hero.

A good draft creates playable lanes and a coherent team fight. The recommendations are reference signals based on the selected lineup; they are not a promise of a win or an instruction to ignore your own experience.

Compare Your Hero Pool

Save heroes you play regularly, then check them against the current enemy team and your own allies. The view surfaces counter relationships, likely threats, and synergy signals without requiring a Steam account or match-history upload.

Add a hero from the selector and compare the displayed advantages, vulnerabilities, and team fit. Use that information to narrow your options, then make the final choice according to the current patch, your comfort level, and your team's plan.

Data and Scoring

Recommendations combine role popularity, matchup statistics, and hero-synergy entries. The score is recalculated whenever either lineup changes, so it reflects the draft currently shown on the page rather than a fixed tier list.

The tool first filters heroes that have meaningful play on the chosen role, then compares relative popularity and applies matchup and synergy adjustments. Its data is derived from bundled Dota 2 and STRATZ-derived datasets; sample size, patch changes, and missing data can affect the result.

Counter relationships receive more weight than synergy in the final reference score. This prioritizes avoiding severe matchup problems, but it does not account for every factor in a real game, such as player proficiency, communication, or a new patch. Review the numbers as guidance, not certainty.
