Frequently Asked Questions
How does this MMR calculator work?
This tool is based on the public mapping between Dota 2 ranks and MMR. It estimates how much rating you need to gain or lose between your current MMR and the target rank/MMR. Results are theoretical and can differ in practice due to streaks, hidden MMR and other factors.
Why does it assume ±25 MMR per game?
For simplicity, the calculator assumes a fixed +25 MMR on win and -25 MMR on loss. In real games, the rating change per match can vary, but this assumption provides an easy-to-understand approximation.
What does "impossible to reach the target" mean?
If, with the win rate you entered, the expected MMR change per game goes in the opposite direction of your goal (for example, you want to climb but win rate is at or below 50%), then in theory you will drift away from the target over time, so the tool marks it as "impossible to reach the target".
Tips for Climbing MMR More Efficiently
Focus on 2–3 roles and a small hero pool you are very comfortable with, to improve consistency instead of constantly swapping to new heroes.
Manage your playtime wisely. Avoid long tilt sessions when you are exhausted or upset; taking breaks can actually improve your long-term win rate.
Review your losses: watch replays, pay attention to vision, economy flow and team communication, not just KDA.
Use this calculator as a planning tool, not a source of stress. Set realistic milestones instead of trying to jump straight to a very high rank.
