7.41e Bane Guide

I. On the Game Opening
Here's how to maximize this hero's effectiveness. Let's start with the laning phase, since laning is the most important part of Dota 2.
At level 1, take
Brain Sap and trade with the enemy position 4.
Bane can solo-kill any hero in Dota 2 at level 1. The key point: your starting gold must go toward
Healing Salve, so that after the trade you can instantly heal back to full and start disrupting the enemy position 3.
Level 2 doesn't bring much of a power spike, because
Nightmare has a very high mana cost—you should only use it in the rare cases where you feel a kill is possible. Remember, mana isn't infinite; using
Brain Sap is more efficient.
At level 3, put a second point into
Brain Sap. This is your laning power spike, making it much harder for the opponent to trade with you.
After the laning phase, your main task is to reach level 6 as quickly as possible. In most cases, helping your mid secure runes (starting from the 4–6 minute mark) is very important.
II. On Items and General Advice

Keep in mind that in a 5v5 teamfight, the enemy must kill you first to have a chance of winning the fight.
Bane can do a lot of things, and your life is critical—so after 20–25 minutes, if you're smoking with your team, your position should be in the back, not the front.
Don't take
Enfeeble before level 8, because having 4 levels in
Nightmare at level 7 is very important. Overall,
Enfeeble only becomes useful in the mid-to-late game.
